Altino Summer Cohorts 2019 - On Our Way to 5k

March 7, 2019 - Since 2016, Oceanit has been working continuously towards the goal of training 5000 non-technical teachers to use coding in their classrooms. We are using the Altino coding system to increase coding language fluency and promote computer science education across the state. By training teachers, and helping them to build non-STEM curriculum around coding, we hope exponentially extend the reach of computer science in our state's schools.

March 4, 2019 - On Thursday, February 28th, Pacific Business News hosted the first annual Titans of Technology Awards. These awards celebrate those contributing to a culture of technology leadership and innovation in the state of Hawai'i.  The recognition was divided into the categories of 'leader', for which Oceanit founder/CEO Dr. Pat Sullivan was nominated as a finalist, 'Company', which in which Oceanit was a finalist, and 'startup' which celebrated newly formed tech start-ups based in Hawai'i.

IN THE NEWS | Creators of Altino Robotic Cars, SAEON, Visit Oceanit in Honolulu

February 7, 2019 - On January 30th, Mr. Se-yong Jung of SaeOn, the inventor of the Altino coding car, arrived in Honolulu to spend a week with Oceanit and to meet our coding education partners. Visiting along with Mr. Seyong Jung were five top coding students from Korea, who won the 2018 International Altino Competition. In their week on Oahu, Oceanit and our Korean guests held multiple Altino scratch coding workshops to help spread computer science to educators and leaders in our community.
