IN THE NEWS | An Update from Dr. V on Geek Beat!

Posted July 15, 2019 in Ian Kitajima, Life Science, Nanotechnology, S&T

From 2008-2012, Hawaiian families tuned in to Hawaii News Now for Dr. V and his morning segment called 'Weird Science with Dr. V'. He is, of course, our very own Dr. Vinod Veedu, head of Oceanit's materials team and Director of Strategic Initiatives.

Over the four years of 'Weird Science', Dr. V brought unusal and entertaining science experiments into households around Hawaii, introducing countless keiki to the wonderful world of science. In 2012, Dr. V moved to Houston to spearhead Oceanit's Texas office, which ended his Weird Science show on HNN. Since his move, Dr. Veedu has been traveling between Houston and Honolulu regularly to continue to work with his colleagues in our Hawaii HQ. His team in Honolulu and Houston collaborate to work on advanced nanomaterials development for a wide range of industries.

Oceanit's Technology Sherpa, Ian Kitajima, has been a regular guest host on HNN's weekly Geek Beat segment over the past year. During Dr. Veedu's most recent Honolulu visit, Ian invited Dr. V back on air to show off some of the great things that Oceanit has been working between Texas and Hawai'i.
