Design Thinking at Kapolei High School

August 13, 2018 - “Design Thinking” is the process we use to drive Oceanit’s Mind-to-Market approach to problem solving and communications. Design Thinking can be used across an unlimited number of situations and industries. Oceanit’s Ian Kitajima and Abe Toma, together with trusted innovation consultants, were invited to host a Design Thinking seminar for the entire staff and faculty- teachers and support staff alike- of Kapolei High School, with the intent of fostering more efficient and constructive communication through the entire educational chain to benefit generations of students to come.

IN THE NEWS | Oceanit at the 2018 Pacific Risk Management Ohana Conference

August 9, 2018 - The PRiMO (Pacific Risk Management Ohana) Conference was held from August 6-9 at the Honolulu Convention Center. PRiMO’s theme for 2018 was “Technology and Disaster Risk Reduction.” Oceanit was represented by innovators Dr. Michael Foley and David Takeyama who presented two computer vision technologies in development here at Oceanit in Honolulu.

IN THE NEWS | Altino Coding 2018- 5000 Coding Teachers in 5 Years

August 1, 2018 - It’s all about education and innovation. The last of Oceanit’s 2018 Altino summer workshops wrapped on July 28th on Maui, concluding a six-cohort tour of our state. The Altino Coding workshops have now reached well over 200 teachers from across the state, to introduce them to coding for the first time. The teachers became students as they learned to code and program the Altino autonomous car platform.
