On February 1, 2012, Oceanit was featured in a Hawai`i Public Radio segment called “Bytemarks Café,” hosted by Burt Lum and Ryan Ozawa. In this segment, co-hosts Lum and Ozawa spoke to Oceanit Program Manager/Sr. Electrical Engineer Derek Ah Yo, Congresswoman Mazie Hirono, and High Technology Development Corporation’s CEO Yuka Nakashima (who is also the State’s Technological Evangelist).
On June 13, 2012, Oceanit was featured in a Hawai`i Public Radio segment called “Bytemarks Cafe,” hosted by Burt Lum and Ryan Ozawa. In this segment, co-hosts Lum and Ozawa spoke to Luanne Bongiorno (General Manager of the Waikiki Marina Resort) and Harzali Hashim (Director of Engineering at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider) because they wanted to get a glimpse of how the hotel industry in Hawai`i is engaging in the quest to save energy. Bongiorno and Hashim both agreed that cost and doing the “right thing” for the environment were key motivators for their hotels to save energy. Also featured is Oceanit's Zubin Menon, who called in to the show.
Oceanit has developed a durable superhydrophobic coating (“Anhydra”) that prevents corrosion, running rust and performs consistently under highly corrosive environments.
