Oceanit’s own Tech Sherpa, Ian Kitajima and AI Computer Vision guru, Mark Kimura will be at the TechForce Hawai’i 2019 Conference, hosting STEAM-inspired interactive activities including a Design Thinking and Aloha AI Playground.

Presented by the Hawai’i Institute for Public Affairs (HIPA), TechForce’s objective is to bring together federal and local government, private industry, and education centers to improve our collective efforts in increasing STEM/cyber skills in Hawaii’s current and future workforce. The conference seeks to accelerate our tech-readiness with thought-provoking panels and speakers from across the realm of education, pubic entities, and private businesses.

Ian Kitajima will be part of the panel titled, ‘Technology, Hawaii’s Workforce, and Communication’. He will be joined by Isla Young, Director of STEMWorks and the Maui Economic Development Board and Tyler Iokepa Gomes, Partnerships Manager at Elemental Excelerator to talk story about 21st century tech opportunities. Ian will talk about Oceanit’s success story in tech as well as our lessons learned and how we communicate both the positives and negatives. Ian’s Communciation Panel will be held from 1:30-2:45pm in the convention center’s main conference room.

Mark Kimura and Ian will also be hosting Oceanit’s Design Thinking Playground, where participants will have the opportunity to interact with cutting-edge technology, including Oceanit’s interactive artificial intelligence tool, AI Aloha Network. Ian will teach visitors how to apply the Design Thinking process to workforce development challenges. It’s our own little science fair for adults! the Design Thinking Playground will be in the main Expo hall.

Join us at the Hawaii Convention Center on September 26th to learn about how we are accelerating tech-readiness for Hawaii’s tech workforce of tomorrow.
