Please note: This internship does not provide a housing stipend or travel budget, so applicants should plan accordingly.

What will you do as a summer intern?

At Oceanit, you’ll collaborate with scientists, engineers, or professional staff on a wide array of cool research and development projects. You could develop a mobile app, build AI computer vision models, restore a wetland, stabilize beach erosion, or work with advanced meta- and nano-materials which could revolutionize our future. You’ll have the opportunity to into the field or to client sites and work with our stakeholders to solve difficult problems and deliver value for the community.

The possibilities are endless.

You will conceive and develop your own innovative project proposal and present it to the review committee as a final capstone project. Many projects have resulted in products and services for our clients.

What are we looking for in a summer intern?

Problem-solvers with a talent for invention. Hard workers, fast learners, and self-starters. Team players, people who are fun to be around, and good communicators.

Requirements: Applicants must be a recent graduate (within 12 months) OR a student enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree-seeking student (diploma, certificate, etc.) and taking at least half-time academic or vocational and technical course load at an accredited high school, technical, or vocational school; 2-year or 4-year college or university; or graduate or professional school.

At least minimum age required by federal, state, or local laws and standards governing the employment of minors. Non-citizens may be eligible for employment under U.S. immigration laws.

What does the application and interview process entail?

Interviews will be conducted with shortlisted candidates between January and March for the summer internship.

Selections and formal invitations are completed by April, and candidates will be contacted via phone and/or email.
