Ibis Networks

Plug in, take control.

With Ibis Networks’ tools, companies can achieve visibility and control over thousands of socket level electrical devices, saving significant amounts of money and energy across operations.

InteliSockets™ are patented, wireless mesh devices that easily retrofit over a standard electrical outlet to create an encrypted network.  This mesh network provides secure, real-time monitoring and remote control of every electrical device plugged into your network.  Ibis Networks offers advanced IoT technologies to provide building owners/managers with actionable insights and advanced control tools for their energy use.

Installing InteliSockets™ on outlets means that companies or individuals can monitor energy loads, tag locations, gather usage patterns, and create device descriptions. Users can then analyze how hundreds of devices and appliances throughout a building consume electricity – even when they are not being used or the building is empty. Using the Ibis Networks InteliGateway, building owners receive interpreted electricity usage data to make decisions about managing energy and devicese/appliances in their buildings.

Devices can be turned off remotely, power-downs can be scheduled based upon use patterns or hours of operation, and managers can respond to power alerts. Imagine that an older refrigerator on the 12th floor of your office is beginning to draw more and more power… the Ibis Network will alert you that this appliance may need to be replaced due to excessive overdrawing or bleeding of energy.

The real-time collection and processing of energy consumption data can change the way energy use is managed in a building. The more data collected over time means better decisions can be made about use habits and patterns, resulting in huge savings in energy costs.

Ibis Networks was selected to join the Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator (IN²) for their work in plug load management for the enterprise. This five-year, $10 million program helps advance energy efficiency by accelerating sustainable commerical-building technologies.IN² participants receive up to $250,000 in cash and in-kind technical assistance to advance their technologies and an opportunity to beta test within Wells Fargo’s real estate footprint.IN² is funded by the Wells Fargo Foundation and co-administered by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).

In 2020, Ibis Networks was rebranded as WattIQ.  Watt IQ is considered the world’s first scalable, enterprise-grade IoT solution for asset utilization & condition monitoring built around smart plugs.  Known as Ibis Networks until May 2020, WattIQ is focused on applying machine learning to power consumption at the device level, analyzing assets like centrifuges, incubators, HPLCs, vending machines, freezers, and other electrical office equipment as soon as they connect to the smart plugs. WattIQ’s low touch solution gets assets connected to the network in just minutes. Within 60 seconds of being connected, power data for the asset is visible, and actionable insights are available within 24 hours. It is also possible to pilot the technology or fully deploy without the need to invite WattIQ onsite.
